Case study, K-12 schools
Sachi’s doubled meal sales at a school cafeteria
Parent and student online ordering, led by the weekly pizza program, doubled meal sales at the school and lifted revenue on every slice.
K-12 school foodservice
Measured outcomes
- 2x meal sales since 2021
- +100% hot-meal orders
- +125% revenue per pizza slice
This is a single-school result in K-12 foodservice, not a business and industry catering metric.
What changed
From manual work to one connected flow
Before App8
- Lunch ordering run by hand
- A ceiling on what the kitchen could sell
- Hard for parents to take part
With App8
- Parents and students order online
- The weekly pizza program anchors demand
- The kitchen prepares to known orders
The challenge
Sachi’s runs the cafeteria at École Maurice Lapointe, part of a franchise that serves more than 10,000 students a day across the National Capital Region. Lunch ran on manual ordering, which capped how much the kitchen could sell and how easily parents could take part.
The solution
Sachi’s put ordering online with Rally Schools. Parents and students order ahead from a school menu, with the weekly pizza day as the anchor, so the kitchen prepares to known demand.
The results
Online ordering doubled the school’s meal sales after 2021. Hot-meal orders rose 100%, and the Wednesday pizza program lifted revenue per slice 125%.
App8 offered online ordering, which helped boost my business, doubling sales. It was particularly beneficial with the pizza program.
