Common questions
How Rally Schools handles subsidies and ordering
Does Rally Schools determine free-and-reduced eligibility?
No. Subsidies are operator-configured. You set which schools, families, or items are subsidized and by how much, and Rally Schools reports it cleanly as subsidized versus paid. App8 does not determine eligibility or manage federal reimbursement.
Who places the orders?
Parents and students self-order in a parent portal, against the menus, cutoffs, and subsidy you set. The operator side is reporting and high-volume order and operations management, not placing orders for families.
What subsidy models can we run?
Full subsidy by default with a parent opt-out to pay, a sliding scale that starts fully subsidized, or a subsidized price you set per item. Every order reports as subsidized versus paid.
Can families schedule and pre-order in advance?
Yes. Families pre-order against the cutoffs and order windows you set per school, from a calendar view, so the kitchen prepares to known demand. Receipts and confirmations are automatic.
How do allergens and dietary needs work?
Families order against student profiles with allergen filters, and the allergen and dietary flags carry through every order to the kitchen and the reports.
Can we run menus across many schools at once?
Yes. Run managed rotational menus, availability, and cutoffs for every school from one operator console, with bulk actions and multi-site permissions for district and site staff.
Can we export reports for accounting and district oversight?
Yes. See orders, revenue, and subsidy by school and date range, exportable and printable for accounting, operations, and district oversight.
